Forest School

Forest School

An introduction to Forest School

Forest School originated in Denmark and many schools and pre-schools have now made it part of their curriculum. Forest School allows children to learn and develop in the outdoor environment. They are encouraged to explore and find out about nature, the seasons, wild life, the weather and much, much more.

Forest School has a strong emphasis on using outdoor spaces, where children can access nature and learn about the natural world through challenging play opportunities that a rural setting provides.
Children also learn woodland crafts and take part in a wide range of outdoor activities which build confidence, develop social skills, encourage problem solving strategies, and helps them to develop curiosity for the world around them.
